Introduction
Capacities vary depending on the size of the station and generally range from 5,000 to 50,000 gallons for small gas stations. With the integration of POS systems, transactions are streamlined and inventory is kept. The gasoline (or petrol or diesel) sold at gas stations is NOT stored in the pumps that dispense gas; rather, it’s stored in large oil tanks that are buried underground, or, sometimes, above the ground. Gas station tanks vary in size and volume; however, they will depend on the purpose, location, and content of the tanks.
