Introduction
Arctic Renewable Energy’s first solar park, ARE Park Pello One, is scheduled for completion in 2026 in a former land extraction site in Pello in westerns part of Finnish Lapland. The pilot power plant will be the northernmost industrial-scale solar park in the world. ABB has joined the project as a key technology provider, delivering automation and control systems that ensure efficient energy production and monitoring. The Heinineva solar power plant, to be completed in late 2025, will be one of the largest in Finland and the first ever to be built in a phased-out peat production area.
