Introduction
The energy U C stored in a capacitor is electrostatic potential energy and is thus related to the charge Q and voltage V between the capacitor plates. Yet a potential difference is itself a measure of the energy stored per unit of charge. Unstored energy refers to energy that is available in a system but is not held in a permanent state or stored for future use. These equations say that the flux stored in an inductor is the inte-gral of all the past voltage applied across it and similarly the charge in a capacitor is the integral of the past current.
