Introduction
Containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are essentially large batteries housed within storage containers. These systems are designed to store energy from renewable sources or the grid and release it when required. By integrating all necessary equipment within a transportable structure, these units provide modular, plug-and-play renewable energy systems. The World Bank through Scaling Up Renewable Energy for Low-Income Countries (SREP) and the Small Island Developing States (SIDSDOCK) provided funding to the PPA as the Project Implementation Agency for the SEIDP.
